⛄ Ford Focus Intermittent Starting Problems

Our 2012 Ford Focus would often have the non-starting issue shown in this video. Another symptom was that the remotes wouldn't always lock the doors on the Quick and Easy Check for a focus that doesn’t have any power(like a dead battery) or will not crank. Checking and fixing this is very easy to do for those of Fob-start attempts fail with engine catching and running about 1-2 seconds max. Repeated attempts usually result in normal start after one or two additional failed attempts. Smartphone app is different type of failure - indications are that engine is running, when in fact it is not. Here is what I know so far: - Most the time it starts no problem. - When it doesn't start, the starter does not crank. - I have tried shifting to neutral, all other gears, park, everything. It will not start in Park or Neutral. - The gear indicator is working fine. - New battery. - Clean terminals. intermittent starting problems.
